Your data, your shop

Twenty years of service history shouldn’t live behind someone else’s login

Most shop software is a website: your records live on the vendor’s servers and you rent access to them. Service Dock is built the other way around — and that one decision changes everything about who’s in control.

01

The app runs in your shop

Service Dock is a Windows desktop app. Your work orders, customers, and invoices are processed on your machine — not on a web server two time zones away. That's why it's fast, and why it doesn't care whether your internet is up.

02

The database is encrypted, on your disk

Your shop's records sit in an encrypted database on your computer. Someone walking off with the machine doesn't walk off with your customer list.

03

Backups go where you decide

Encrypted backups run locally, and you can add copies to a cloud account you own — Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or Dropbox. Service Dock only touches the folders you authorize, for the purpose you authorized.

04

Export is always on the table

Customers, units, history, invoices — exportable whenever you want. If we ever stop earning your business, you leave with your records. That's the deal.

So what does the internet do, exactly?

We’re not anti-cloud — we’re anti-dependency. Online services make Service Dock better; they just never become the thing your shop can’t open without.

License check and updates

Verifying your subscription and delivering app updates.

Customer links

Secure pages your customers open to view or approve work — served from the cloud so they work on any phone.

Companion app sync

SD Mobile and SD Driver sync with the desktop through Service Dock's servers, over encrypted connections.

Cloud backup (optional)

Copies of your encrypted backups to the storage account you connect.

The questions shop owners ask us

What happens if the shop computer dies?

You restore from a backup onto a new machine and keep working. This is exactly why backups run automatically and why we recommend adding a cloud copy to your own account — a dead PC becomes an errand, not a catastrophe.

If it's offline, how do customers approve estimates remotely?

Online features layer on top. When you have a connection, you can send customers a secure link to view and approve work. When you don't, the shop keeps running and those features resume when you're back online.

Can you see our shop's data?

Your operational database lives in your shop, encrypted, and we don't have a login to it. The cloud services we run see only what they need to do their jobs — license checks, update delivery, and the customer links and sync traffic you generate.

What if we stop paying?

Your data doesn't evaporate — it's on your machine, and export is always available. Compare that with cloud-only tools, where 'cancelling' and 'losing access to your records' arrive in the same email.
